Carol Bishop-GwynCAROL BISHOP-GWYN is a writer and dance historian now completing a biography of Celia Franca, founder of the National Ballet of Canada. The book tracks Franca’s pioneering creation of a world-class ballet company in a country still suspicious of culture. Bishop-Gwyn holds two post-graduate degrees in dance history and has taught courses at York University, Ryerson University and the School of Toronto Dance Theatre. She is also working on a biography, Wilde Women, about three nineteenth-century women who left colonial Canada to win international acclaim, all crossing paths with Oscar Wilde. Bishop-Gwyn has worked as a broadcaster and producer for CBC National Radio and as a freelance magazine writer.
