Hi! Originally from Bath in the southwest of England, I studied Chinese at the University of Edinburgh and spent a year living in Dalian, northeast China, where the sub-zero temperatures helped prepare me somewhat for winter in Toronto. After graduating, I channelled my passion for books into a Publishing MA at University College London and while I was studying I had a part-time job in the marketing department at Christie’s. I also had the chance to intern at the Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency as well as at various publishers across London including Faber & Faber, Fitzcarraldo Editions and Pushkin Press.

I spent a year living in Taipei where I worked as a freelance editor and Chinese-English translator for several Taiwanese literary agents and publishers. I am currently translating a Chinese romance novel into English and assisted Taiwanese publishers at the 2019 Frankfurt Book Fair with pitching to editors and simultaneous interpreting. An avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, I enjoy reading books from a wide range of different cultures. On the rare occasion that I’m not reading, I like to go snowboarding or long-distance running. I am thrilled to help promote Canadian writers as part of the team here at Westwood Creative Artists.
